In steroid community it is commonly used as an anti-estrogen during the cycle. It is important to relate here that Nolvadex has practically identical effects and way of action as Clomid and that the two drugs are interchangeable. Tamoxifen citrate competes for the estrogen receptors, which results in two distinct results: first, it acts as anti-estrogen because the estradiol or other estrogens in blood cannot express themselves as the estrogen receptors are blocked. Second and more complicated action is its post-cycle use. Here the testosterone production is suppressed and estrogen is produced to make for the steroid shortage. When it is denied to activate estrogen receptors, androgens are produced again. It is important to stress that Nolvadex is a much stronger drug than Clomid and is therefore preferable under the same conditions. Safety: Many Nolvadex users experience hot flashes (up to 80%) but other side-effects are uncommon. Nausea and headache can occur.
